MY FAVORITE PARTS ARE WHEN MONTEREY & SAVANNAH ARE TALKING BECAUSE, ETHIER THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT DRAMA OR THE NICE THINGS ABOUT "EMAKO BLUE" I ALSO LIKE WHEN JAMAL TALK'S BECAUSE HE IS VERY FUNNY AND HE IS SOMEWHAT OF A "PLAYER" ( HE REMINDS ME OF MYSELF ) WELL IMMA HOP OF THIS POST FOR A WHILE SO COMMENT....... ON PAGE {75} WHEN THE CHEVY PULLED UP NEXT TO EDDIE THAT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ONCE BUT IT WAS MY UNCLE IN THE CAR..... WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF U WAS IN THAT SITCHUATION?

  3. I think that really if you look at the situation that it was pretty much all Dantes fault for Emako dying. The reason I think this is because if Emako wasnt dead then Dante would still be in jail, Savannah would actually be friends with Emako, Eddie would be able to go to collage without anything on his mind , Emako would actually hook up with Jamal and last and the best reason, Emako would actually be a singing sansation and she would become a singing star with a past just like the blindside storyline

  4. i really liked Emako Blue , it was a sad story but it [ should've ] tought every reader a lesson . the lesson was to watch out who you hang out with to make sure they arent in a gang and even if your family memebers are in a gang you should keep your distance because what happen to Emako can happen to anyone . the sad part was the bullet wasn't meant for Emako it was meant for Dantes and it was his fault she died because he wasnt aware that him being in a gang could've [ did ] hurt his family and the people around him

  5. ChIrP!!DREEEE!!!!tha book is very sadd.Because she get shot ova gang vilients nd tha is not kool.lolz but tha boring part is wen her bestfriend goes back in life wen emako was alive and wen she was in skool nd how she met he and wen they were friends.but i think she cann sing becuzz the teacher said tha she was a very good singer.nd i wanted to no how is her family like ?are they very mean with no maners or are they very nice with nice maners

  6. I think that is a very very sad book. When emako blue grows up she wanted to be a singer and do a lot of things in he life. She died and left all of her friends with so manny memores of her and that is nice how she got to help her friend out. I think that it is Dante fault that Emako died just like Phillip said because if they keeped him in jail she will sill be alive.A nother reason why it is said that she died is because Eddie dont want to go to collage because the only thing thant is on his mind is just emako.!!CHIRP!! Adriana was here

  7. I agree with marielize because this book is very sad! And i wish that she didnt have to die like that and I dont agree when everyone say that it is dante fault because it really isnt but i really which people will learn that gang violence doesn t make you look cool it makes you look stupid and i also thunk that being in a gang just leads you prison! And also yuo can get killed so PLEASE STOP THE GANG VIOLENCE !

  8. i think that this is one of my favorite books. i think it is because it is very sad. This is a dramatic book becaue alot of things happend to emako. for example her big brother was making things very hard for her because she loves him but he doesnt care a bout anyone except himself. like in the end when she died it was his fault.i think emako was to good of a person to die in this book. all she wanted was a good future and thats what she was trying to make. she was very nice with so much talent. i dont like savannah. she was very jealous of emako and she was always starting drama with anyone.she is agrivating to me!but those are the main reasons why i like this book

  9. I ALSO AGREE WITH MARIELZIE & ADRIANNA THIS BOOK IS VERY VERY SAD.... BUT DID YOU ALL READ THE PART WERE SHE SAID THAT HER OTHER BOTHER WAS SHOT AND STABED A LOT OF TIMES AND HE IS STILL ALIVE..... AND DANTE WAS STABED AND ALMOST GOT SHOT BUT HE GOT AWAY.... IT SEEM'S LIKE THE BAD BOYS IN HER FAMILY HAS MORE LUCK THAN SHE DID.... ANOTHER THING THAT MAKES IT SAD IS THAT GOD DIDN'T TAKE HER LIFE ANOTHER HUMAN DID AND THAT GUY DIDN'T EVEN WANNA KILL EMAKO UT HE DID TRYING TO KILL HER BROTHER.... BUT HOPEFULLY IN THE END OF THE STOERY THE COPS FIND THE GUY OR GOD WOULD PAY HIM BACK FOR HIS SIN'S >:]

  10. I agree with lizi because emako did want to have a good life for her and her family and in life its good ti have high hopes! Emako remmids me of me because i think i can sing good and so does my friends and family and their all supportive this is why i loves this book!Emako did have alot of talent and her lifes was kinda of hard because her brother kinda of acted like a jerk to her and also i dont know why he wants to be in a gang because gang just lead to violence killing and prison!

  11. Well I agree with lizi Emako had a very bright future and if her brother cared a little bit about other she would'nt have died. I think that Emako was very kind and gave everybody a chance she never put anyone down. Her best friend Montery would understand what im trying to say because she knows what she was all about and I bet if Emako had a chance to live her life it would have been a GREAT life that she could have lived if her brother thought about others before he thought about his self he would'nt had been dead. I feel that this was the best book out of all of them becasue ot was good, sad and dramatic all in one thats how I feel about this book.

  12. Yooooooo !! its Kambria.Aka.Bria

I think this book Emako Blue was a really said book .because Emako died just because of Dante . I agree with Marielzie because i really think the lesson for this book is dont hang out wit the wronge person and what happen to Emako can defanitly happen to anyone . This book tells about a girl who had a dream and a talent to be a singer and didnt have a chance because she died over gang related violance .

  13. Everyone that has posted a blog on this book has good blogs. I just finshed this book and it is one hundered percent one of my favorite books. The most sad part I think in this book is, after they put Emako's casket in the ground. While Monterey and her parents was driving away from the cemetery her mom stop to get a blanket out of the trunk. As Montereys mom was puting the blanket on she, pulled away from her mom, and yelled, " I can do it myself!, i'm not a baby anymore!" I think that happend because, she had anger build up inside her. Savannah even felt bad & sad about what happen to Emako even if they had "drama" Eddie seemed lifeless. I think Jamal was the one that was most hurt from what happend to Emako. They all reminded me of myself at my dads funiral, i felt lifeless, felt like I lost a bestfriend, and i was the one who was hurt the most. " Well this is my last time on this post... but don't worry I will drop by sometime Dre out!"

I think that is so sad how Emako Blue had die all because of a drive by that is really sad. I agree with Cassie when she is that is a good because when i first started to read this book the first 3 pages really caught my attention. When it was time to stop reading i dident want to stop i will like to tell a lot of people to read this book because it is a really really good book. Also that is sad how she will never gess to live her dreams that is to be a singer. She left all of her friendz with lots to remember about her. Alsi eddie dont want to go to collage because all he can think about is Emako this is a rerally good i can just read it over and over and over again....

  15. AWW Marielzie I agree so much with you this book is very sad and I hope it did teach someone a lessen because it sure taught me one. The thing it taught me was that I should be carefull who im around because Emako was a good kid who had a great future but it she wasn't outside with her brother that day she would have never been shoot and killed. But the really sad part in the book to me is Jamal calls Emako and her little brother answers the phone and stats that shes dead. It almost made me cry...............

  16. I respectfully disagree with you Phillip, because I think Emako should of known better. She should of followed her own gut, instead of following Dantes. If she did then she would still be alive. Also if she lived, Emako would be a star. I can say because a music producer came up to her and said if she is interested in becoming a super star. I agree with Cassie because I think this book is one of the best books, maybe the best book in the history of great books! We all can relate to this book, because we all had at least one person in our family or someone close to you die. For example, I can relate to this book because my brother died. I rather not talk about it. But that makes me relate to this book.

  17. Emako blue seems like a wonderful person but its so sad to see that she got killed on a drive by. My Question is "Why didn`t she get down on the floor?" "Why did she just stand there lookin and yelling out for her mother??"!!! I agree with Ashely because when I first started reading the book it did catch my attention. I like that when Brenda Woods wrote this book she really showed how to put everybodys expression and it shows how they feel how close they were to Emako. Brenda Woods did a good job on this book. I would recommend this book to everyone!. I would like to know if Brenda Woods went through something like this before maby thats why she wrote this book.

  18. This book is so sad.. I really wish gang violence would stop ! Emako didnt deserve to loose her life.... she was really innocent. In my opinion who ever shot her.. should feel really bad.. they deserve to be punished such as jail or something.

  19. I just started this book but I personaly think it's interesting and sad.the reason why I think is was sad was because Emako died and alot of her friends and family were very upset. so yah I just started this book so I don't have that much to say!

  20. Today i read Emako blue and so far its a good book.I like the part when monterey said that emako had a voice that could do tricks,go high, low and anywhere in betweenp:a voice thats a gift from god.

  21. "Ayyy people its depina or emzee as you guy's may know me by"....I agree with Nakeyla and Drequawn because, Emako did have a great life to live if her brother wasn't selfish enough to let her die! Opinions: I think her and jamal would of made a great couple and would of had a great life! Another thing is,im glad that instead of letting jamal play her emako set him straight. Questions:if they ever made a part two of the book would it be like the loveley bones how she was talking to the reader from heaven? Lastly, would montery and eddie become couples?

  22. Emako was the only one that knew if Dante was home everything would go really wrong with the house and family and everytime she would tell he mom all she had to say was "Thats still my baby my son." But I wonder if her mother knew that saving one baby might just destory her others. And saddly thats just what happened.
If her mother would have never let Dante come back he would have never had the phone and their woudn't have been any shooting.

  23. I just started reading Emako Blue and I have to say its a really passionate book.Although its really sad that Emako dies from a gang that she wasn't even in.As i read the book i relize that if your friends or family are in the gang that could really affect your life in so many ways. And I agree with amely on that question 'will Montery and Eddie become couples?? Anyways from what her friends are saying Emako seems to be a really good and intelligent person. This book also shows good expression(like everyone has different feeling's)I agree with Cheyanne I 'I wish Gang violence would stop too.

  24. Hello it Mariama.k
Reading Emako Blue help me under stand a human life and how many thing just may come and go.
EmakoBlue was a girl that had a lot of mind and faith and had a dream to become some one that all gone away. This book reminds me of our life in Boston. Kids are geting shot and killed over gangs and half of the time it is barely even their fault they are dying. Like page 101 her brother said kicking it with his gangstas that ring a bell in my head ....her brother had something to do with Emako Blue death she was a child that nothing to do with any of this crime but she got the price for her brother not her dying but it was her who did over things that had nothing to do with it.

  25. I agree with mariama. I agree because it does help use understand the human life. I do think that out of all the books that i had read on this blog site i think that emako blue was the best. I think that it is the best because the situation that they are in most of my friends out of school have. I think that all the people who shot someone they really should turn them selfs in. I also think that guns or any weponds should be sold. People should get hurt in any way because other people are mad at them selfs and make the choice to hurt someone else because they are hurt in side.

  26. I respectfully disagree with Timiothy . Emako didn't know her brother was going to get her in trouble and she wasnt going to keep her distance from her own brother . Emako loved Dante but she wanted him to get out of gangs and stay out of trouble . Emako didn't know there was going to be a drive-by and she didn't know she was going to get killed . But Emako did know that her brother was in a gang and instead of her telling him to get out of a gang she kept quite . It isnt her fault she died , beacuse it's not like she knew someone was going to kill her . She didnt know better .

  28. I agree and disagree with Pamela J. Emako is a wonderful person and it was sad to see he killed by a drive-by but you have to understand why she didnt "Get down on the floor" or "Why she just stood their looking and yelling for mother.". You have to put yourself in Emakos shoes if you was the one who had got shot from a bullet that was made from your oldest brother. Or probly couldnt even think twice about getting down on the floor because it happened so fast. You have to think your trying to run away from a bullet so you yell the person yo love most your mother...

  29. im stillreading emako blue. but i think its a very good book. its helpin me see how the world can really be with gang violence. and how kids that get envoled with stuff like this you cant get out of it. once your in it, your in it forever. this also reminds me of time when my friend got shot because of a drive. and he wasnt the person they were lookin for to kill. so he lost his life for no reason at all just emako blue did. rest in peace emako and steven

  30. I just started the book Emako Blue but I think that it's sad that Emako won't have the chance to live her dream which was to sing. And it happened because of a drive by. And Emako is a very nice person and she didn't deserve to die. Adn I feel bad for her friends because all their left with is her memory. but she's in a better place now so that's good! but still sad.

  31. I agree with marielze that this book should've tought all of us the lesson of safty. To not hang out woth anyone in a gang or is realated ot anyone in a gang. If your with a gang member, the situation can be fatel. if your with a family member or friend of a gang member it can be fatal. That is true becuase what if the gang member is wanted by other gang members, the they might kill the gang members friend or family member and it might hit you.

  32. Dear eveyone saying its Dante's fault but if you really lokk at it you would know that it isnt his fault actually!Yeah Dante did cause a little trouble that's Why he got stabbed and got in jail. Maybe thats why that Boy wanted to shoot him! This should teach Everyone a lesson! Gang violence Leads To nothing in life peolpe that are in gangs get shot either if they owe someone money or if they was messing with someome inc another gang ! All the boys in the school if you want to have a nice life and get alot of money being invole in a gang leads to nothing! I think tha people join gangs because they feel a sense of respect! Some people also join gangs for protection or if they have been threatned or forced to join a gang just like Scropions! Also People join gangs to get money by selling drugs. You will not have a nice life living like that so dont get involed. And stay away from people who are dangerous or are in gangs becareful with your life

  33. I just started the book Emako Blue and its really sad but its good . Her friend Monterey was saying that she meet Emako in the beginning of the school year. She tryed out in a school chorus and she could sang very, very, good.If one of my friends died because of gang violence I would be really mad. Its sad how you have to remember your friend and you cant even talk to her any more .

  34. Im still reading Emako Blue. The book really tells about how kids join Gang's or Gang activity. And like people say once you join a Gang it's really hard to get out and when you do get out.But some kids are forced into Gangs and if they dont cooporate they will either kill or shoot you or even bully you until you move, and in the story when Emako gets killed ,she didnt know that was going to happen and all she could do is call her mom's name, and there probaly wasn't no time to dunk down.Emako probaly was in shock. And nobody knew her brother was in trouble until the shooting happened.A question I have is 'if Emako's mom knew what her son was doing how come she didn't just move?

  35. hey bloger,Im here to talk about the book Emako Blue and how interesting, sad and how much drama this story has . Well let me start with the question that i wanna ask about the book . Um did Emako brother(Dante)every care about her or his family at all ? Becuase after she got shot and all he do is ran to some other place and not caring about Emako and if his little sister is dead or not . Becuase if I were him I wouldnt care about geting in jail again I would just only care about my family and it just seen like he only care about himself and that it . If I were Emako mother i would get so mad at Dante and I feel that I could'nt forgive him at all .
    - now im out of the blog ; byee (;

If iI can do anything to get this gangbanger to be prosecuted or something because I will!

  38. well cassie but i still think it can be dante fault but at the same time he was puting there life in bad hands. Thinking about everything help we under stand that we dont know the other half of this story we all know that EmakoBlue past a way over a gunshot and they was looking for her brother but still there lot more too it from their to come and shot at her but at the same time you are right it was Dante fault. GOOD THINKING !!!!!
